Spring Grant Ceremony

Join us for our Grant Ceremony on May 8th, 2025 at The Capitol Theater at 5PM CST!

Meet the visionaries leading the charge for change:

Why Giving Is So Important.

In the next 30 years, an estimated 6.6 billion dollars will leave Des Moines County through inheritance.  Many that have lived and worked in the community their entire lives would like a portion of their wealth to stay in the area.  The opportunity to leave a lasting legacy is exactly why Community Foundations exist.

When you give to the Community Foundation of Des Moines County you are funding the future.  Take a few minutes to see for yourself why giving is so important.

Grant Recipients
of Spring 2025

"I am so proud to announce that your Community Foundation has grown significantly in the last 12 months! Our two largest funds have grown to over $1 Million each, bringing our total assets to over $5.22 Million! To those donors that made this growth possible, please accept my sincerest appreciation on behalf of our board of directors and all the future causes and projects your contribution will fund.

We are also excited to announce our Fall Grant Cycle beginning in 2025. This new grant cycle will offer larger grants up to $50,000 to local 501(c)3 and public organizations in Des Moines County.

A gift to the Community Foundation is special. It endows our community, creating a perpetual and growing source of funding our local projects and causes. The State of Iowa encourages Iowa taxpayers to donate to community foundations by offering a tax credit of 25% of your donations to $400,000 for individuals and $800,000 for couples.

Your Community Foundation helps build a better community by bringing together the Des Moines County public sector, non-profits, and private donor to invest in meaningful projects and causes long term.
